I've seen various posts over the past few months from people
recommending MS SQL Server Reporting Services or open source
query/reporting software. I'm interested in knowing the reasons you took
that approach. Lower cost? SSRS or the open source software was already
available in house? you preferred the development environment? desire to
keep the workload off the i for performance reasons? avoiding an upgrade
of the IBM i? other? Was it easy to get things into production? what's
working well? anything not going as expected?
I work for a vendor, but I am not posting this to find customers. I'd
sincerely like to hear comments from people with this experience.
Thanks,
Bill Langston
