I'm with Scott on this one.

You can set up views that mimic the MS SQL server tables/views
complete with long names, so that the web app will require little if
any modification.  You could even set up those views in a schema named
like the one on MS SQL server.

I've yet to see a "home grown" replication system that worked 100%
reliably.  It's just never as simple as it looks.  There's a reason
you'd spend big $$$ to purchase a vendor's replication package.
