Subject: Re: Explaining single level store to non i people

"But some anecdotal evidence - I worked for a company that was running
bookeeping operations (many applications) for a fairly large hotel &
restaurant with OS/400 and about 50 workstation & printer sessions on a
server with just 96 MB of RAM."

Hmmm - unfortunately a local shop is moving off the i to a win2008/sql
platform because their vendor re-wrote the i application in java and will
no longer support rpg. Their recommendation/solution was to purchase 16gb
of ram so that the entire application could be loaded into memory.
