To summarize, the SSD will probably outlive the gadget that contains it.

Note that Steve Will describes how the iSeries balances the devices to put
most frequently accessed data on the fastest devices. In that situation,
the O/S will certainly fully exercise the SSD drive. In fact, probably
more so than the swap partition on a conventional architecture.
