Get the power hookups, lan cables and whatnot ready. Get the system i
Access 6.1 lan console loaded on the PC and the service pack and the
firewall setting. Make sure you have the media to install stuff you want.
Make sure you are registered and can access your keys. Order the latest
cume and all groups (whether you think you need them or not) on CD so
they'll be there when you return from vacation.
Enjoy your vacation. When you come back, forget the IBM directions - they
aren't worth spit. Follow Lukas' instructions.

As I said earlier - that's the exact model I did last week. Keep the
800-IBM-SERV (or 800-426-7378 for those of you with a blackberry who can
no longer figure those cute names out) number handy for when (see I didn't
say "if") you have the console error.
Keep the faith buddy, you can do this. If you're still concerned one of
