I use Mochasoft http://www.mochasoft.dk/tn5250ce.htm Not free but it is cheap and has an unlimited trial.

I think that would be helpful. I've been comparing as best I can TN5250J with Mochasoft's applet and IBM's Host On Demand applet. TN5250J comes up on top - for features. I'm not inclined to deploy an ActiveX component.

Right now I'm playing with TN5250J screen colors to see what might match my portal color scheme - more or less.
