That is definitely not a good idea. The IP address should be displayed exactly as it is originally written, not as modified for presentation, because the modified value may not function equivalent to the original. The value 044 is not the same as 44 in IP addressing. Specifying the 044 is a request to treat the 44 as octal versus decimal, so 192.44.208.12 /incorrectly/ redone as 192.044.208.012 would become a reference to 192.36.208.10
