There are ways to type characters by hex code - I think there is a hex 
key you can set in the PC5250 emulator that is used by Access. Now this 
might not allow entering non-displayable characters, like CR and LF - 
these x'25' and x'0A' in EBCDIC and might need conversion to x'0D' for 
CR in ASCII.

It might be better to type in a place marker special value that would 
get replaced by the program. Something like @@CRLF.
