When I download them this way, they are put in QGPL in save files as others
have said with the format Q plus the PTF designation (SF or MF and
numbers). The cover letters are in the multi-member file QAPZCOVER. If you
want to apply all the downloaded PTFs, you can;

1) go ptf
2) take the option to install a temporary fix package (mine is option 8 on
V5R4)
3) put *SERVICE in the device and select all the other options on that
screen that you care to.

Once the PTFs are loaded from the save files in QGPL and the system is
restarted (sometimes twice depending on what the cover letters might say)
then you can go to Navigator and take inventory of PTFs. Once the inventory
is done, you can right click and choose cleanup and those savefiles will go
away.

You can also use Navigator to apply PTFs, but I was bit once and had to call
support. I don't remember the details. Ever since I have done the green
screen way, even though IBM has most likely fixed that bug.

So, did it put it on your PC or on the i? I always use image catalogs and
tell it to ftp. However if I do use Download Director it tends to put it
in
C:\Documents and Settings\ROB\My Documents\Downloads

I rarely, if ever, use download director for ptf's.

Subject: Where are my FixCentral downloads
Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx

I am trying to install PTF's for the third time in my life and am having
trouble with the process. Here is the completion page that I received:

http://mowyourlawn.com/temp/fixcentral_download.pdf

I did a download immediate but don't know where it downloaded to. I
looked
in the temp folder on my C drive but don't see them there. I was hoping
the
subsequent links they provided would guide me, but they ask a whole bunch
of
questions that I don't know the answer to. For example, did I download
fixes received as save files or ISO images of CD's?

Here is the link with the directions I am trying to follow. Am I on the
right page?
