You're right. I did install from QShell. Wasn't aware of the differences
between running from QShell and QP2TERM. Did some research and see that is
does make a difference. Should have followed instructions.

Another issue I am running into though is my output in QShell is fine, but
when I run in QP2TERM, the output is garbled. Obviously a CCSID issue, but
I am not sure what I need to do to resolve it.

Interesting. 7z is a program, but for some reason your computer is
trying to treat it as a shell script.

My best guess is that you used the 'tar' program in QShell rather than
the one in PASE. But that's really a stab in the dark, since you've
provided no details about what you did.

At the above location, Scott Klement has put a compiled version of 7-zip
for IBM i along with instructions for installing it. I downloaded the
version on his web site and I followed the directions to install. When I
try to run the 7z command, I get the following error:

/QOpenSys/usr/local/lib/p7zip/7z: 001-0046 Syntax error on line 1:
matching
delimiter for quoted string not found.

Didn't receive any errors during installation. Any guesses as to what
went
wrong?
