I have no clue what would cause something like this. My best guess is
that it's trying to interpret the 7z program as a shell script (which
it's not, it's a program.)

But I have no clue why it'd do that.

I don't know if this helps, but I did notice in the OP message that it was trying to do something with /usr/local/lib. That seems odd to me for a function like this (I would have expected /usr/local/bin), but not entirely unusual. I don't have 7z on our system and cannot install it for security reasons, so this is an outsider observation. Thought it was worth noting.
