It's an argument over semantics and I am seldom drawn into one of those.  My
apologies.  

So you know where I'm coming from (before I disappear on to more meaningful
labors): the key questions I see are:  "Is there a simple way to explain the
difference between a table and a PF," and "Should it bug me..."  I see the
"other than" as an attempted partial answer to OP's own question.  

Maybe OP knows how the entities were created; maybe not.  I've assumed 'not'
in this case, and my responses are based on that.
