From a Price/Performance perspective, Power systems
aren't your first choice for any workload.

I think IBM is getting the message about the price/performance concern. We'll find out more next week when Power 7 servers are announced publicly. If price/performance is the primary concern, Power blades seem to be the answer.

The other thing is that centralized ILE applications often perform MUCH better than counterparts which may be deployed using distributed server architecture, mostly because several middle-ware layers are eliminated - by design.
