I wanted to disable SEU for 30 days. I wasn't given permission and we
paid the price - severely. I strongly recommend this! If they "just have
to" (like code from their blackberry's 5250 emulator to fix a nightly
backup crisis) then they can use EDTF.
I do recommend training. We contracted Jon Paris to come in and spend
about a week doing our training. Set up a computer lab, etc.
If you don't have the 3 or 4 developers or more to justify onsite then
send them ALL to training. Conning your local user group to contract with
Jon or someone to put on a 2 day session should be pretty easy. Just
commit to sending x people. I've seen one day sessions that weren't bad
but stuff gets omitted. Normally the debugger for one. And you
definitely want that covered. For SEP's and what not it kicks tail!
