Sounds like you need to up your assistance level. (This user preference setting has been around as long as I have been around these systems.)

Right from the WRKUSRPRF display, take function <F21> and set your assistance level to Intermediate.

FYI.....this applies to other commands where output is intended to be displayed, work system status comes to mind as an example.

Subject: V6.1 WRKUSRPRF

We are testing a newly installed system with V6.1. When I ran the
command WRKUSRPRF and prompted a user and put a 2 on it to change, I got
an extremely limited version of the command. I could not add any
authorities or much else. The only way was to use the CHGUSRPRF
command. Is this some new security "enhancement" for V6.1?
