I have. Fascinating.

RCDFMT <format-name> ADD <column-name> . . .

A bit of a surprise to find a way to apply a format to an index, rather than apply an index to a view, but I'm not one to look a gift equine in the masticatory orifice.

The query debug messages might give some insight; i.e. to reproduce the scenario might require the same implementation.

Hmm. I vaguely recall those being covered at some length at the class I attended in Rochester, but it's been a few years. Would we be getting query debug messages at access time, going through RLA, or just at creation time? It sounds like something that might also be of some help on the problem I posted on the MI list.
