Hmm. I vaguely recall those being covered at some length at the
class I attended in Rochester, but it's been a few years. Would
we be getting query debug messages at access time, going through
RLA, or just at creation time? It sounds like something that
might also be of some help on the problem I posted on the MI
list.


The SQL SELECT as "query" is encapsulated in the VIEW, and that query is run at file OPEN time.

For example, perform the following scripted CL invocations, then review the spooled joblog with second level text:

strdbg *none
opndbf *libl/syscolumns *inp commit(*no) opnid(s)
clof s
