Charles,

The issue with password protected ZIP files is the plethora of ZIP password
cracking programs. 

A simple means of securing ZIP files is to place them somewhere on one of
your web pages that requires secure sign on. That way, you don't have to
password protect, or sometimes, not even ZIP!
