In this case, install doesn't mean untar / unzip. It means ... umm...
install.

Did you look at the README or installation instructions that you got with
gcc?

Usually, it's something like:
./configure
make
make install

It says on the main download screen (in the pink box)
If you are having trouble, receiving an error about "libstdc++.so.6"
that's causing p7zip to fail, please try installing version 4.1.1 of
the GNU C Compiler.

In order to install that, I had to get gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z and uncompress
it.
I got the gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z file, moved it to my IFS (for some reason it
came over READONLY *YES so I changed that to *NO)

I uncompressed gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z (using uncompress from PASE) but I'm
still getting the same error.
I'm wondering if I installed gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z wrong.

I wasn't sure what to do with gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z but I googled my error
and saw in another thread to do an "uncompress."

I didn't really see any instructions for installing the gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z

Chalie, have you read this article that Scott did:

Hi all,

With Scott's help, I finally was able to uncompress gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z
from the link provided in the pink box at the bottom of Scott's page,
http://www.scottklement.com/p7zip/

I'm not sure if this was the correct location to use, but I actually
put it in the same folder as my 7z command before uncompressing.

The folder was /usr/local/lib/p7zip.

I had originally gotten the error 3500 on the uncompress which Scott
told me was a "READONLY" error.
I'm not sure how it turned to *READONLY when I downloaded it and
copied it to the IFS.

But sure enough, from within WRKLNK I was able to change it to
READONLY *NO and when I uncompressed, I did not get any error
messages.

I now have gcc.4.1.1.tar in folder /usr/local/lib/p7zip with the
other
p7zip programs.

However, I'm still getting my original error.

7z
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program 7z because of the following
errors:
0509-150 Dependent module libstdc++.a(libstdc++.so.6) could
not be
loaded.
0509-022 Cannot load module libstdc++.a(libstdc++.so.6).
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name
does not exist.
0509-021 Additional errors occurred but are not reported.

Is there more I have to do besides uncompressing gcc.4.1.1.tar.Z?

Should gcc.4.1.1.tar be in the same folder as p7?
