We have written a SAMBA wrapper product called RJSSAMBA.
The SMBEXISTS CL command would work for this.
Feel free to download a demo from our web site.

I considered this but when I have tried this in the past I have not
found it to be reliable. I do not know if it is something on the i side
or the Windows side but we have had problems making this connection to
do the mount and when we were successful we would have the connection
drop a lot or be very slow. We were looking at not using FTP to move
files between our i and Windows servers and use QNTC instead but when
back to using FTP because of the issues. Do you use QNTC and find it
reliable?
