Then they are idiots. The "Unix tools" or whatever the proper name is
a Microsoft distribution. Did they install anything other than the
base OS? I'll bet they did else you wouldn't be able to use it in an
enterprise environment.
If WinDOS is that flakey then you either need to replace your Admin or
replace WinDOS with something better (pretty much anything else in
fact).
