I'm not so sure [ok, I know] that the CCSID on fields changes the Record Format Level Identifier.

That was ambiguous :) What I meant...

The CCSID at the field level does NOT change the Record Format Level Identifier...

- change other attributes of the field, CCSID, ALWNULL, DEFAULT...

None of those change the Record Format Level Identifier.
