Yeah, ALWNULL does...301B26EEBA69C vs. 301B26DEBA69C. Such a small 
difference my aging eyes misses it. My apologies on that one.

CCSID and DEFAULT aren't changing it on my system. CCSID is one that I knew 
because of the NLS implementations I do. DEFAULT I checked. ALWNULL I got 
wrong :)

As far as checking, yes, it's easy, as long as you do it up front :). I do 
think it's pretty important to understand what does and what doesn't though. 
It makes decisions easier...
