I have an alternative that doesn't require any hardware. When you
change your password on windows (e.g. ctrl-alt-dlt/change password), it
changes other passwords for systems/applications that you have
configured it to change. It can change web-site passwords too. The
userIDs don't have to be the same everywhere.
It consists of a web app/server that can run anywhere you can run a
web-app, and a DLL plug-in for windows. It is not SSO; although it
happens to fit well in SSO enabled environments because there are always
a few users (e.g. admins) that don't want/need SSO.
