Absolutely. Only reasons to stop at IBM i 6.1 is if your hardware can't go past it or your vendors aren't ready for 7.1 or you want to pay your favorite IBM i Upgrade expert to do two upgrades instead of one.

I have done many of these and 7.1 is rock solid. The upgrades are very smooth.

Go to 7.1 Go directly to 7.1 "Do not pass GO, do not collect $200." :-)
