Please elaborate on that. How is it easier to set up?

In my experience, there's really no setup involved in either sftp (the
FTP-like interface to SSH) or ftps (FTP over SSL). The trouble is
getting it to work over a network involving firewalls and NAT. It's a
major headache, and often not possible to get FTPS working in that
environment -- whereas sftp _just_works_.

I guess 'easier' is relative... In a past employer, our DCM was already set up so all I had to do to use ftps was assign a cert and I was done. If I wanted to go with sftp I would have had to install and configure a new LPP (Is OpenSSH automatically installed now?). Not much of a difference, I agree.

At my current employer we have set up ssh for use with our HMC so I would most likely choose sftp if I had to do it now.
