Ken, looks like it works when I specify the trailing blanks! Awesome!

Now, how I put this to work within the CL? The debug image I sent
previously clearly demonstrates the content of the variable and I am not
touching its content. Probably the default action of the command is to
*TCAT the variable before the execution? There must be a way to control
that, right?

I see that you got it sorted with Chuck's help.

With what I was doing, I was just running commands from the command
line so I was only using constants, so I didn't run into the
trim-trailing-blanks-from-a-variable issue.

We have lots of CPYF commands in CL programs, but I think they all
just copy the entire file. I'll bear in the mind the strange INCREL
behavior if I ever need to use it in a CL program. (Thanks Chuck!)
