Brian,
On IBM i, DB/2 is an integrated component of the OS, and is versioned as such. The code implemented as DB/2 for IBM i is not the same implementation used for DB/2 on LUW (linux, unix, windows).

Subject: Standalone DB2 vs. Embedded DB2
Hi All,
Can someone tell me if there's a version difference between the standalone version of DB2 and the one that is integrated in the v6.1? One of my programmers asked me that question as there are some features in the newer versions that would be useful to him.
Is there a cl command I can run to determine the version of DB2 that is on our system, or does it follow the system version (ie: v5.4 OS = v5.4 DB2, etc.)?
Thankee-sai!
/b;
