Treat a virtual tape volume the exact same way as you would a physical volume.

So the answer is both volumes will be controlled by the expiration dates. If they expire, you can use the tape without issues, if not you have to expire the tape.

Now, with virtual tape I am a little confused. For example, you may put
an expiration date on your save for 2 weeks, do your save, and your DUPTAP
and your physical tape will expire in two weeks. However, will that hold
true for your virtual tape? If so, then you probably do have to INZTAP it
so that you can save it the next night (also with a two week expiration).
