Hello,

I have received errors on my FTP log without any error codes.

"No response from remote host; all connections closed."

What I have done is to have my Log sent to a temporary member, then I have
a program that processes this member looking for this error. If found, it
notifies me.
Then I CPYF this member to my archival Log member for permanent retention,
and clear the temporary member.

Thanx,

Nick

Jorge,

Yes, you can scan the FTP output for an error. It will always be a three
digit numeric value in the first position of the output line.

From page 34 of the Networking File Transfer Protocol Version 5 Release 4
manual:

It is a straightforward matter to write a program to process this file and
display an error message on QSYSOPR if there are any error messages. FTP
error messages have numbers that start with a 4 or 5.

Subject: FTP actual delivery confirmation

Hello group,

Is it possible to get an actual delivery confirmation of an FTP function
after I have delivered IFS files to a remote location?
Can this be achieved in a single command stream?

We had an incident were the remote location effectively responded the PING

but the documents were lost.
At the moment our Batch FTP outbound process only checks for an abnormal
error of the plain FTP command.

Would it be sufficient and reliable to inspect the verbose of the FTP
Output?

Just wondering and looking for your assistance.

Thanks in advance for your answers and recommendations
