Well, if you really know nothing it is possible to screw this up. For
instance, I wouldn't take the connection from your home ISP and plug it
into the lan port on your i and just think "it's an i - it's inherently
secure". That being said, with reasonable prudence, it's not
irresponsible to allow internet access to your i either. There are
numerous website, ftp sites, email servers, etc that are i based.
