All my boxes have been pretty simple so I have never imported a sysplan. I
hear it's great for large systems with many many LPARs.

Before plugging in the server, power up and run the initial Setup Wizard.
Verify all the server HW is located in the card slots you are expecting if
you plan on assign specific cards to specific LPARs. Once all that has been
run, attach the HMC/SDMC to the server and 'then' plug it in.

Has anyone ever done one of these, does anyone have any documented steps.
I am concerned about importing the plan and also when I get to the point of
powering on the server. Should the HMC have all ready located the server
via DHCP..
