I'm trying to determine how to go about using ATOM or RSS 2.0 feeds to sent "alerts" or "status" details to the user community. I see that Apache offers Abdera, which seems to be the content creation and publishing library, and Camel, which seems to be used to poll feeds and process them as needed...

Has anyone built on these projects to implement event logging / notifications for ILE applications? I am thinking that this could be extremely useful for cross-platform transaction logging, so that we can track transactions across their lifecycle, trap systems performance data, problem notifications, and so forth. Also could be useful for automation, such as monitoring for *ERROR conditions and generating a service ticket...

Any examples, RPG prototypes, or just simple advice? Please let me know...

Thanks,
-Eric DeLong
