swing optical device between LPARs?

I have a 9406-810 (running V5R4 and Ops Console) with a primary partition and one secondary partition. The optical device is allocated to the primary partition.

Is there a way to dynamically swing this device from one partition to the other? We have some software to install on both partitions that came on DVD.

I found this post but that requires V6R1:
