I guess I didn't know that the file in an image catalog was just any old iso file.

I have converted the CD to an iso image and have FTPed the file up to the AS400. I am going to try an create an image catalog from it now.

Really don't hink you can do it on a 810 or V5R4 using the Internal DVD.
You would need an External DVD on it's own card and that card could be
moved between partitions.

A work around would be image catalogs. I would Create the needed Image
catalogs in the primary, FTP them to the other partitions etc or create
.iso images of the DVDs and place those in the required partitions and
create and use image catalogs.

I have a 9406-810 (running V5R4 and Ops Console) with a primary partition

Is there a way to dynamically swing this device from one partition to the
other? We have some software to install on both partitions that came on
DVD.

I found this post but that requires V6R1:

and this one but it references using an HMC which we don't have:

and this one which sounds like it's possible but I don't understand what
the steps would be within SST:

Any thoughts/guidance would be greatly appreciated!
