Assuming you mean the status of OUTQ's that are defined to send to a remote system. I poseted some simple code using the QSPROUTQ API to get some of the details for remote writers including the status (%SST(&O 133 10))

I also have a WRKRMTWTR command:

if you are needing to work with all the remote writers.

How can we determine in a program the status of a remote printer writer?

Primarily we are interested in whether it is started or not.

The QSPRWTRI API does not seem to work on remote writers (but is working

for normal writers).

I've just run across QGYRPRTL, Open List of Printers. Anyone tried that

on a remote writer?

Thanks, Sam
