From the developer:

The QSPRWTRI api documentation says that it returns information similar 
to WRKWTR.  But for some reason when I pass it a remote writer name I 
get a CPF33C8 (no writer information returned for printer).  If I do a 
WRKWTR command and specify the same writer name, that works.

We didn't get much further today--other problems intruded. The code he 
has does work on regular writers.

adequate detail.  Sorry...)
