More specifically,
Advanced function printing . . . . : AFP *NO

would show that the printer isn't configured as AFPDS capable, if you
vary off the printer and change the DEVD to AFP(*YES)

If the printer isn't capable of it, you'll get an error either when
trying to change or when you very it on (I forget which).

If it's a laser printer, I'd be surprised if it wasn't AFPDS capable.

IIRC, I had a circa 1996 IBM 6400 line printer with the IPDS chip and
it was configurable with AFP(*YES). God was it slow doing graphics!
