I went through that about a year ago. There is no part number to convert
from TWINAX to ETHERNET (per my BP). You have two choices (at least):
1) By a Twinax to Ethernet Converter box (of which there are several)
2) Purchased a previously owned 6400 that already has ETHERNET. (This was
my choice. I replaced an IBM 4234, IBM 6408, and an IBM 6500VSP). The VSP
already had ethernet but was a dog so I replaced it.

I know this is possible but does anyone have a part number or a procedure
for doing this ? (subject line) It's a pretty old printer but it works
great and twinax is going away so I need to convert this chattering beast to
Ethernet.

Thank you. I sent the person a reply to the effect of:
Our primary machine is an IBM Power 6 9117-MMA. It runs IBM i as it's
operating system.
That LPAR has 5.25 CPU's allocated to it.
If you can tell me how to determine the Core count or the "# of socket"
I will be happy to assist.
Or, perhaps those are general questions geared towards other platforms?

Our back up machine is an IBM Power 6 8203-E4A. It also runs IBM i as
it's operating system.
That LPAR has 1 CPU allocated to it.

He replied back with "Out of office until July 16".

Does this tell us anything?
