Hello Pete,

I just recently went thru this with our upgrade from V5R1 to V7R1.

Here's a quick summary of the three interfaces I had to convert.

I used System iNavigator to configure all the queues.
However, after creating the ques, I had to use CHGOUTQ to turn SEPPAGE off
even though I specified that during creation.

1. Zebra printer, converted from Twinax to IP based printing by using Zebra
print server (was IBM compatible, but not listed on IBM page).
2. HP laser printing using IO twinax to PCL adapters (external). Converted
to IP using internal HP print servers.
Converted IPDS bar codes to SCS (commented out 3to9 code in print
definition) and used Formsprint to create bar codes.
3. IBM 6400 printer (no internal ethernet). Went crazy trying to make an
external print server work, but then used an HP external and it was perfect.

ref commands:

CRTOUTQ OUTQ(QUSRSYS/PRT01) RMTSYS(*INTNETADR) RMTPRTQ('Payroll')

AUTOSTRWTR(1) CNNTYPE(*IP) DESTTYPE(*OTHER) MFRTYPMDL(*IBM6400)

INTNETADR('10.1.134.65') SEPPAGE(*NO) TEXT('Payroll')
DTAQ(*NONE)

CRTDEVPRT DEVD(PRT01) DEVCLS(*VRT) TYPE(3812) MODEL(1) FONT(11)
FORMFEED(CONT)

TRANSFORM(*YES) MFRTYPMDL(*IBM6400)

I got the tip to use INavigaotr to create the queues from this board.

Switching to the HP device was from pounding my head!

I know this is possible but does anyone have a part number or a
procedure for doing this ? (subject line) It's a pretty old printer but
it works great and twinax is going away so I need to convert this
chattering beast to Ethernet.
