TN5250 generally works, but there are times where it will drop and not be able to reconnect to the session screen. It gets to the initial prompts (language, shared session key, etc.) then just drops off. I thought my system was broken during an upgrade a while back, when it was just TN5250 not connecting that was the problem.

I have to admit, I've never thought of trying that, but it fails for me as well.

A $35 copy of Mocha or IBM's Personal Communications (more) is too easy? Maybe TN5250, free?

Instead of using IBM i Access' emulator, I'm trying to start a console session on my HMC from a green screen telnet session on an LPAR. I do get to the "pick a language" screen, but any input gives me "key not valid."

Has anyone done this successfully, or is the mapping provided by telnet incompatible?
