Is there an affordable 5250 emulator out there? I know about the
Mochasoft emulator, but I am not about to spend $30 for something I
might use every few months (nor really justify it to my boss). I
foresee using it for the quick answering a message or resetting an
account while I am out of the office.

There is a free version of the mochasoft 5250 android client.
