You can use SQL to call remote procedure QCMDEXC. Unlike DDM and SBMRMTCMD you do have to supply a user ID and password for the "remote system".

I was reading on line that with V7R1 and TR2 you can virtualize an External LTO Tape Drive in a IBM i with IBM i Guest Partitions. If I read it correctly you simply vary it off where it is vary it on where you want it.
sound good for a manual operation or a timed set of cmds.
So if I needed to send a cmd to another partition what is the best way?
Assuming I don't need to wait for a specific time to save LPAR B and LPAR C I want to start the save of LPAR A and as soon as it ends Start LPARB and so...
