Since that configuration would also violate the Terms and Conditions of your software agreements and maintenance contracts, IBM could exercise its authority under those agreements to force you into compliance. All in all, a bad idea.

Some folks have tried putting the 8GB dimms in the memory slots rather than the limited 4GB dimms, guess what, they are not recognized, so there are some hard limits in the 4core that are not in the 6 - 8 way systems.
