What are the steps needed to create this view ? I too want to stop

a great way to modernize for us but how.
Changing from DDS to DDL is not a means to /modernize/ because the
change is unnecessary. Be *very careful* and fully understand the
impacts before making such a change [e.g. programs that write invalid
decimal data will no longer be FD&H, and they will become unhappy victims].
A proper change is to move applications to use the SQL for SELECT
queries and DML, and *then* change database files only when necessary;
proper, because then applications that care about level identifiers will
[mostly] be gone, and a TABLE or a VIEW can change without impacting
existing programs that depend on a specific static record format. And
since a past thread indicates IBM refused to correct one of the latest
encountered incompatibilities, effecting match RcdFmt Level Identifiers
may remain elusive.
