I'm looking for someone who can dispute this based on experience - not theory - which is all I have.

How do they define "Agile"? As Paul Raulerson said, it's a programming methodology, not a technique.

I would define Agile loosely as being a programming methodology that lets a team deliver fully tested code ("Done Done Done") in very short development cycles, allowing "stakeholders" to approve or reject the direction in which the development is going. To say that's only possible with OO is nonsense.
