Sue, i meant presenting LUNs from a storage (say a DS5020). Those LUNs are
all from the same array so any IO to any of those disks really impacts the
array as a whole, in that case it should work the same as creating the
hosted disks on the host's ASP, right?

the VSCSI drives are not spread across multiple units.
Therefore, it will matter if you have different sized
VSCSI devices.
