On the same vein, how does the storage level flash-copy or sync'ed luns
affect IBM i? I mean, i've been toying with testing a hot-cold HA system
with the advanced functions in todays storages so say:
6 luns on storage 1, presented via VIOS to LPAR1
6 luns on storage 2 - slaved to those in storage 1, presented by VIOS to
LPAR2 (offline).
Shutdown LPAR1 (either gracefully or not)
Start LPAR2
It should work start without problems (other than the lan resources being
different or abnormal IPL in case of bad shutdown and that kind of thing),
right?
Best Regards,

So a little thought is required when you create the partition that is
being cloned. Set it up for example to come up only to restricted
condition until you fix the IP address and system name for example.

The concept of save and restore to a clone is great but you can also
simply duplicate the disks with CRTNWSSTG and skip the entire save and
restore cycle.

With no external lan access, right? So, if I try to telnet to it which
one do I get to? Or does it just firestorm the lan with people fighting
over the IP address?
