I should mention that documentation for iSeriesPython (which is found
on the Web site) is on the sparse side and covers just the stuff that
is specific to the i. The official Python site (www.python.org) has
much more comprehensive documentation, including a fairly nice
tutorial:

When poking around for further resources or third-party packages, be
sure to specifically look for Python 2.7 or, failing that, other
versions in the Python 2 line. Stuff for Python 3 isn't fully
compatible with Python 2, and thus won't be applicable to
iSeriesPython.
