Our current Jwalk server uses OpenSSL 0.9.8e.
Why will this not work with our current certificates?
What causes a newer cert to fail with older versions of SSL?

Subject: SSL cert and compatibility issues

We recently installed an updated cert from one of our vendors, old cert was expiring.
Turns out the new cert was issued with a higher level of SSL, and another of our 3rd party products failed with the new cert.
No immediate fix for this issue.

On another note, this is the same issue why I could not get Jwalk SSL working.
Rocket uses their own SSL engine, which is old and not compatible with current certs.

I'm looking for some good SSL info, and/or training, on how everything needs to be compatible.
OS SSL levels
Cert size and levels.
Encryption levels.
Anything else that might be related/important.

Thank You
